St. Pius Catholic School is proud to celebrate 70 plus years of educating the hearts and minds of our student body. Our focus on the whole child prepares our students for future success both in and out of the classroom.
St. Pius School is truly home for me. My favorite title in life is "mom." My own two children thrived at St. Pius School. Like a mom to my students, I care deeply about their growth, nurture their hearts, provide guidance, celebrate successes, see potential, and balance love and structure. After 32 years in education, I still wake up every morning grateful for the chance to help children grow—not just academically, but as kind, confident, and empathetic human beings. Teaching has never been just about lessons or tests for me; it’s about building connections and helping students believe in themselves and in others.
I arrived at St. Pius through my former principal, who, along with the administrative team, determined the need for an English Language Arts teacher. I returned to the classroom after 35 years of teaching middle school on the East Coast, the West Coast, and in the middle. I was re-energized and once again found purpose and meaning. My vocation now continues as I strive to impart my knowledge to my students in the disciplines of literature, English, history, and religion as the eighth-grade homeroom teacher. I have discovered in my three years here that St. Pius is a close-knit and resilient community with supportive parents, creative and faith-filled students, and an administration that allows us as educators the freedom to discover and implement different ways of teaching, as well as allowing us to pursue our passions in the subjects that we teach
