  St. Pius Preschool is a Montessori-inspired school that serves children aged 3 to 5. Grounded in its Catholic faith, the school partners with families, the parish, and the community to offer a high-quality education in a Catholic environment that promotes peace, security, love, and community. The school's focus is on the holistic development of each child, providing opportunities for spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social, and physical growth. Recognizing that children have diverse learning needs, the school uses individually tailored materials to nurture creativity, order, independence, coordination, and concentration.

  A Catholic pre-primary curriculum guides St. Pius Preschool. We believe that children learn best when they have the freedom to explore their environments, select materials that are self-correcting, and are given time to learn and absorb the concepts being investigated. The teacher is seen as a guide for the learning that occurs and provides learning tasks or jobs based upon observation of the child. Lifelong learning occurs most efficiently when the individual child's interests and development determine the materials being offered for exploration.
  
  Ages
  3–5 years
  Children should be 3 years old at the time of admission.
  
  Hours
  Full Day: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  Half Day: 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  Extended Care: 7:30–8:00 a.m. and 3:00–5:00 p.m.
  Extended Care is not a drop-in program. Children must be pre-enrolled for Extended Care either monthly or for the entire school year.

  5 Half Days: Monday–Friday
  3 Half Days: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
  
  School Year
  St. Pius Preschool is a 10-month program, beginning in mid-August through June. The preschool follows the St. Pius School Year Calendar and observes all scheduled holidays, school vacations, and breaks.
  Children must be toilet trained, able to comfortably separate from parents, and interact positively with others. If a child does not show signs of readiness, we will ask that you withdraw your child and re-enroll at a later date.
  Enrollment priority is given to: siblings of St. Pius School students, St. Pius parishioners, Catholics at a parish without a school, and non-Catholics.
  
  APPLICATION PROCESS
  
  Thank you for your interest in St. Pius Preschool! We are accepting applications for the new preschool year.
  
  Please call the preschool office at 650-361-1411, ext. 120, to schedule a classroom visit. The first visit is for parents only. You may then fill out an application online: click here.
  
  Submittal of an application along with all required documents is necessary to begin the application process, but does not guarantee enrollment.
  
  A non-refundable fee of $125 must be submitted with each application.
